My Case and the tools

• What you enter in My Case, the premium processing calculator, “Is my case normal?” and Ask is processed in your browser. My Case saves your cases in this browser's local storage, with receipt numbers masked (IOE-•••••1234). We have no server that receives them, and we can't see them.
• If you set a passphrase, all case data is encrypted on this device (AES-GCM, with a key derived from your passphrase). Without the passphrase nobody can read it — not us, and not any script on the page. A forgotten passphrase can't be recovered.
• You can export your data or delete all of it from My Case at any time. Clearing your browser data deletes it too.

Advertising

• This site shows Google AdSense ads on every page, including My Case and the tools.
• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. How Google uses this information: Google's explanation.
• The ad code runs on the same site as My Case. Without a passphrase, your saved cases sit in this site's browser storage, which scripts running on the site can technically read. We don't give your cases to anyone; to keep them unreadable to every script, set a passphrase.

Case status

We don't look up case status for you. The link in My Case opens the USCIS website; what you type there goes to USCIS under its own privacy policy.

What we never ask for

Names, A-numbers, full receipt numbers, addresses, passport data, phone numbers or emails.

We don't accept timeline submissions yet. Before we do, this page will say exactly what is collected.
