Family of certain special immigrants (international organizations, NATO)

Staying, extending and working

Each admission in N status is for no more than three years, and extensions are granted in increments of up to three years. To stay beyond your authorized period of admission, you must apply for an extension of stay in the manner and on the form USCIS prescribes, with the required fees. N status ends on the date the child it is based on no longer qualifies as a child: for an N-8 parent, the special immigrant son or daughter; for an N-9, the N-9 child.[1,2,3]
